This project includes 5,000sqft of hydronic snowmelt for an aircraft storage hangar. The entire system, with exception of the tubing, is located in one dedicated boiler room. A very simple control system and 85% efficient boiler are being used on this project to provide for a minimal maintenance and efficient system operation.

This project includes 21,500 sqft of hangar heating for an aircraft storage hangar and surrounding areas. There is also 9,700sqft of snow melt at the hangar entrance and other building entrances. The boiler room consists of one (1) condensing boiler and the pumping package. Both the radiant floor heating and the snow melt systems are tied together at one control panel. Many of the control functions are able to be viewed and modified remotely via an internet connection. Because there is just one boiler, the highest quality boiler is being used on this project. Very little maintenance and upkeep are required to keep the boiler running strong each year. With boiler efficiencies up to 96%, it is also the most efficient system available for this application.

This project includes 31,700sqft of radiant floor heating for an airplane maintenance hangar. There is also 14,000sqft of snow melt at both hangar entrances to provide for safe entry into the hangar by the jets. The boiler room consists of two (2) condensing boilers and a primary pumping package. There are also two (2) snow melt pumping packages for each hangar entrance slab. While the snowmelt systems are primarily stand-alone, they are integrated into the boiler control system to allow the entire system to operate at its most efficient point. On transition days, the boilers can operate up to 95%.

A separate, existing building is also part of this project. There is a total of 3,700sqft of snow melt. This portion utilizes two separate boiler rooms. One is a new boiler room that utilizes a new condensing boiler and pumping package. This system is completely independent. The second system ties into an existing boiler room.

Fluid Design Solutions provided a complete, turn-key solution on this project. We provided all engineering work for the radiant floor heating and snow melt systems, installation of all materials that pertained to these systems and project management for the radiant portions of the project.
